What are the benefits of closed-cell spray foam?

Closed-cell spray foam cells are completely closed, which makes it heavy and dense. Becuase of this, it typically inhibites infestation by rodents and other pests. Closed-cell foam reaches the most difficult places to insulate (making it ideal for soundproofing). Closed-cell foam is so rigid that it adds to the structural integrity of whatever area it is installed in and increases the strength of the structure that is is applied to by as much as 25%. And because it is dense, closed-cell foam also traps air, which makes it air tight, water tight and more energy-efficient. It is also considered a vapor barrier. Closed-cell Spray foam has an R value of 7 per inch.
