At The Construction Group, we provide you with the highest quality products anywhere in the industry. We prefer to install spray foam insulation in your home. What are the benefits of spray foam? Find out below to discover the advantages of installing spray foam in your home.

Spray Foam Has the Highest R-Value

A concept you need to know is R-Value. Technically speaking, R-value is an insulation’s capacity to resist the flow of heat. The higher R-value, the greater its ability to block heat. Conventional insulation made of fiberglass or cellulose has an R-value of 2.9 to 3.6 per inch. Wool batts have a higher R-value of 3.8 to 4.3 per inch. By comparison, spray foam has an R-value of 5.6 to 8.0 per inch. It has the highest R-value of any insulation. Therefore, it gives you the highest level of thermal protection.

Code Compliance

One of the reasons we prefer spray foam over other types of insulation is because it meets or exceeds all Minnesota residential building codes. Although your house may never undergo a mandatory inspection while you are living in it, you will be required to have it inspected if you decide to sell it. If you protect your home with spray foam, it is likely to pass a code inspection.

Easy to Install

We use an industry-grade sprayer to distribute foam throughout an attic or in the walls. A sprayer is far easier to use than cutting up sheets of fiberglass and tucking them inside the walls. A sprayer gets the job done more efficiently and requires less effort, thus, less manpower. You’ll save money in labor costs and save time on the installation project.

Complete Coverage

No matter how much fiberglass or cellulose insulation we install in your home, it will never completely seal off the outside elements. Spray foam is the only insulation that will. When we spray the polyurethane onto the walls or an attic, it comes out as a hot sticky foam.

Once the foam is on the surface, it can expand up to 60 times its original volume. When it expands, it seals the entire area off including the baseboards, corners, cracks, and crevices on the surface. The seal creates a waterproof and airproof barrier that is virtually impenetrable. It is impervious to air, moisture, humidity, and outside temperature.

Energy-Efficient

Spray foam is the most energy-efficient insulative material you can buy. Extensive research has shown that you can save up to 50% on your heating and cooling bill each month after we install foam in your house. Since foam lasts for more than two decades, you will experience significant saving year after year.
